How To Register For Neurology Match
For open neurology residency positions, applications for the Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center Neurology Residency Plan are submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
Application Information and Interviews
Because the ongoing pandemic there are standing concerns regarding the hazard of travel associated with residency interviews. The ACGME and the Coalition for Physician Accountability have recommended that all interviews be conducted virtually for the 2021-2022 recruitment flavour. It was the hope of these organizations that a uniformed application process would reduce unnecessary confusion, stress, and inequity among students while promoting a more successful pick procedure for all involved.
Interviews for invited applicants take place on Fridays, starting in late October and continuing through early January. The evening prior to the interview 24-hour interval, a Zoom meeting will be hosted past the plan director, David Preston, MD and associate program managing director, Christopher Geiger, DO. This session will consist of an orientation and brief overview of the residency. Afterward, the faculty will sign off and candidates will have the opportunity to meet a group of electric current residents.
The interview program begins on Friday morning at around 9 a.m. and takes place through Thalamus, an online virtual interview platform. Each bidder will take private interviews with several kinesthesia members. Each interview last approximately 25 minutes. At the determination of the interviews, all the applicants will see with the chair, Cathy Sila, MD, in a grouping setting. Arrangements for applicants with specific clinical or inquiry interests can be made to meet with additional faculty.

Neurology Residency Match
The Neurology Residency Program participates in the National Resident Matching Program which announces its results in the middle of March.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants to the Neurology Residency program must have the following credentials:
- Must be graduates of an approved U.S. or Canadian Medical School with the final five years. Outstanding graduates of international medical schools who have been certified through the ECFMG at the time of application may as well apply. U.S. experience is preferred but not required. A valid ECFMG certificate is not required at the time of application merely must see the requirements prior to outset residency. For matched candidates from international medical schools who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents, a valid J-1 Visa is required. We practise not sponsor H1 visas.
- Applicants must pass the USMLE stride one on the first attempt with a three-digit score of 210 or college. Applicants must pass the USMLE footstep two (CK) on the first endeavor with a three-digit score of 225 or higher. For Osteopathic Medical Schools, although the USLME is encouraged, the COMLEX may be substituted a minimum score of 450 on the first attempt. Applicants who have not yet taken pace ii (CK) may nonetheless apply provided their step two (CK) is scheduled and the results will be available earlier the end of January.
- When applying to ERAS, three letters of reference are required. One letter should be from the Chair, Program Manager or Clerkship Managing director at your medical school.
